This screen is a program designed to assist in estimating damper torque in in-lb (inch-pounds). Please see caution notes below.

Tips For Using CCC Online Damper Actuator Sizing
1. Enter the Damper Dimensions in Inches.
2. Choose the Damper Type.
3. Enter the expected air flow through the damper in CFM.
3a.Note: The program calculates velocity in fpm based on the dimensions and CFM.
4. Caution: Use this calculator carefully if the damper's velocity exceeds 3500 FPM (a warning will flag such conditions for you, since many dampers are not designed for higher velocities). The calculator will apply a multiplier to the base damper torque requirement based on velocity: 0-999fpm, mult = 1.0; 1000-3499fpm, mult = 1.5; > 3500fpm, mult = 2.0. IF you leave the CFM field blank, the program will default to 1000 fpm.
5. Caution: Please note that torque requirements will increase beyond the calculated value if the damper exhibits corrosion, bad bearings, faulty linkage, or other such mechanical problems. Dampers that are poorly installed will be twisted or out of square, resulting in similar problems. If you have any questions please contact our Inside Sales Dept. at 414-259-9070.
